The Montgomerie Marrakech is a 6814-yard 18-hole Par-71 golf course. It features various greens, elevated tee offs and water hazards. All of this is thoughtfully crafted to provide an interesting technical challenge. Colin Montgomerie had poured his extensive expertise into this course with layout design aligned with his vision: quite open with large fairways and vast greens. He describes this 81-bunker course as wonderful and first-class.
The signature of a golf legend
Colin Montgomerie, born in 1963, is among the most prolific prize-winning golfers in history. This Scottish golfer has won 37 European titles and earned the European Tour Order of Merit titles, including a streak of seven consecutively from 1993 to 1999. He joined the European team on 8 occasions and stood out five times in the Ryder cup and remained unbeatable in single.

Featuring 81 bunkers that are not too deep but quite visible, the course is both challenging and enjoyable. It’s not too long either, except a few holes such as 5 and 15. It also features a beautiful 420-meter Par-4 in slight dogleg, black holes with elevated teeing ground, a stunning view of the Koutoubia mosque and the clubhouse. Montgomerie says that these are hazards that inflict a moderate sanction; the fairways should be large and just but the rough should reflect its name for the precision to be rewarding.
